About

Expanding our Christian Community

“The Solo Christo weekend is an event that guides and encourages us on our journey as Christians. It is grounded in the biblical truth of the Gospel and ecumenical agreement that Grace is a gift from God granted through His Son, Jesus. The weekend follows a method similar to Cursillo, offering insight and fellowship through a series of prepared talks and general conversation with peers, lay-leaders, and clergy. It will help build a framework to follow in our personal life, in our family, in the church, and in the world that acknowledges the perfect standard as Christ alone.”

Solo Christo has a threefold aim:

1. Engagement: Stir believers towards participation within their own local church

The aim is not merely inspiration, but helping Christians see their God-given role of participation in the local church, and then to take meaningful steps into deeper involvement, service, and accountability within the local church where God has placed them. True growth is expressed in mutual service, not isolation, and this retreat seeks to send participants back with renewed clarity about their Spirit-given role in building up and serving within their own congregation.

2. Fellowship: Cultivate edifying relationships across denominational lines

We believe there is much to be gained in the regular gathering of Christians to “group” together from a variety of traditions. This aim seeks to strengthening bonds among believers who share a common submission to Scripture and the gospel. Such connections can provide encouragement and remind participants that they are not laboring alone, but alongside others who are striving for faithfulness in their own contexts.

3. Illumination: Inspire an awareness of Christ’s work in and through each one

Many believers naturally see the Christian life through the lens of their own tradition. Solo Christo’s goal is to gently expand that perspective, helping participants recognize the ways God is at work in other faithful churches and communities, fostering humility, gratitude, and a deeper appreciation for the unity that exists in Christ across a spectrum of like-minded believers. We want to amplify the call for all Christians to love their neighbors as themselves, by making a friend, being a friend, and bringing that friend to Christ.
